UPDATE: After seeing the wonderful fundraising efforts of my buddy Justin Kenna, in Los Angeles. If we reach out target, I will run the fun run in a costume. Audrey decided it would be fitting to do so in a Koala Outfit. If we reach 8,000 euros, I (Sam) will not only run in the outfit, but later I will attempt to have dinner in the classy establishment of Cecconis, in the Koala Suit!
We all understand the state of emergency that Australia is suffering right now. After speaking with Audrey and sharing mutual helplessness and despair for my country, Australia, we decided we wanted to train and run a 5km race in February in Barcelona with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Australia who "right now are supporting thousands of people in evacuation centres and recovery hubs across Australia".
Personally, on Monday 30th my (Sam's) parents were evacuated to the beach in Bermagui, NSW, where we had no contact for 36 hours and it appeared the only route out at one point was via the ocean. Thankfully they are ok and safe, but it is not the case for 1000's of Australians. The brother and the father of a friend both lost their house and all their belongings.
We wanted to create an easy, median to donate for our friends here in Europe and across the world. And whilst we understand money is needed now, it will also be necessary in 6 weeks time with the predictions for these fires to continue burning out of control in the months to come.
Please give, whether it be 5, 10 or 100 euros everything will help our firefighters, the people affected and the animals suffering this tragedy. If at the moment, you dont feel you can give financially, share this on your facebook, instagram or whatever form of social media so someone in you circle can donate. Our initial aim is 5000 euros until mid February, but we believe with your help we can smash through that ceiling.

Todos entendemos el estado de emergencia que Australia está sufriendo en este momento. Después de hablar con Audrey y compartir la impotencia y la desesperación mutuas por mi país, Australia, decidimos que queríamos entrenar y correr una carrera de 5 km en febrero en Barcelona con todos los ingresos destinados a la Cruz Roja Australiana que "en este momento están apoyando a miles de personas en centros de evacuación y centros de recuperación en toda Australia ".
Personalmente, el lunes 30 mis padres (de Sam) fueron evacuados a la playa en Bermagui, Nueva Gales del Sur, donde no tuvimos contacto durante 36 horas y parecía que la única ruta en algún momento fue a través del océano. Afortunadamente, están bien y seguros, pero no es el caso de miles de australianos. El hermano y el padre de un amigo perdieron su casa y todas sus pertenencias.
Queríamos crear una mediana fácil para donar para nuestros amigos aquí en Europa y en todo el mundo. Y aunque comprendemos que se necesita dinero ahora, también será necesario dentro de 6 semanas con las predicciones para que estos incendios continúen sin control en los próximos meses.
Por favor, den ya sea 5, 10 o 100 euros, todo ayudará a nuestros bomberos, las personas afectadas y los animales que sufren esta tragedia.
