Austin's Surgical Bills

Austin came to us from NYC's high kill shelter. At just 7lbs and 1 year old, this poodle suffered unimaginable neglect.

Austin clearly has bladder stones. Like most of us, if we see our dog is uncomfortable, we bring it to the vet. Unfortantely, Austin's owners weren't like most of us. They left him untreated and in pain.

Soon enough, Austin was no longer able to urinate on his own because the stones moved into his urethra, blocking the passageway to express himself. Without proper care, Austin began to chew his penis desperate to relieve himself.

Well, you would imagine at this point he was taken to the vet, right? NO. He wasn't.

What could have been weeks, Austin was left to handle this situation on his own and then he was dumped at the city shelter. We got a call from our partners at the AC&C asking for us to get emergency transport to our veterinarians and surgeons.

The rest will shock you.

Austin now sits at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group in Brooklyn waiting to ungo massive amounts of surgery. He will not only need bladder surgery to remove the stones, he will also need his penis removed as it is no longer viable and began to rot off. His urethra will  need to be rerouted to a hole the surgeon will make between Austin's legs. We are utterly appalled.

This surgery will cost in and around $4,800. We don't want anything more...just to pay his bill, just to make him healthy again.

No animal should ever have to face what Austin faced over the last X amount of time. But as we've seen time and time again, Austin is kind, gentle, loving and despite his pain, rolls over for belly rubs!

Please.... PLEASE help us get this puppy back on his feet to live a normal, healthy life. He deserves it.
