Hello everyone!
My wife, Jenny, and I understand building companies don’t typically have a GoFundMe page to help others on a personal level. However, someone who is close to our family’s heart is in need of assistance.
We have a very dear friend who has battled rheumatoid arthritis (RA) every day for the last 20-plus years. Our kids know her affectionately as “Aunt Tracy.”
To give you some backstory on Aunt Tracy, she was diagnosed with RA at age 17. Since then, she has had over 20 surgeries to deal with and try to heal from all of the damage this disease has caused.
Recently she had her left knee replaced. During her follow-up appointment, the doctor asked how her knee pain was, to which she replied, “not too bad, but my hip still really hurts.” The doctor did an x-ray on her right hip only to find out that it was broken. The only thing that was holding it together was a screw from a previous surgery. She had been walking on it this way for months. The doctor then scheduled an emergency surgery for a total hip replacement.
Two days after surgery, Tracy was at home recovering. She got out of bed, got lightheaded, and fell, re-injuring her knee and hip, and creating an additional leg break. She is now back in the hospital having two, possibly three more surgeries to fix the resulting damage.
Clearly, money from a GoFundMe page is not going to fix her RA. However, the financial assistance would be a great relief, as the medical bills from the continuous surgeries, hospitalizations, and doctor visits are piling up.
Despite the constant pain and discomfort that accompany this disease, Aunt Tracy is always cheerful, smiling, and cracking jokes. As well, even through all of these setbacks, she still works full time from her hospital bed.
This is not something she asked us to do. In fact, there’s a good chance she will be mad or embarrassed by this! However, Aunt Tracy is a great friend, aunt, sister, daughter, and cousin. We love her far too much to let her go through this on her own, so this is our way of trying to get her as much support as we can.
If you’re not able to help on a financial level, please send good vibes and prayers her way. Our friend, Aunt Tracy, needs all the help she can get!
