In 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent Chemotherapy, two sugeries and radiation. My cancer did not respond to chemotherapy but with the surgery and radiation I hoped for the best and went back to my life. I had a very difficult time and it was very financially draining to seek out other alternative treatments and help to deal with the side effects of chemo ( which helped alot). Unfortunately I did not qualify for medical unemployment insurance when I did need some time off work but I worked all they way through my four months of chemo and through my radiation treatment. I made it through and was back at work putting my life back together planning for the future.
Unfortunately in November 2017 my cancer returned in my bones, brain, liver and lung. We are using radiation to treat my hip for pain and I have undergone radition on all of the ten tumors in my brain using cyber knife. I will need chemo again to deal with the rest of the cancer.
The problem is that it seems I have an unusual cancer and it will not likely respond to conventional chemo. Unfortunately when I asked it they have done any testing or research on my orignal tumor or biopsy the answer was no. I have had a biopsy of my liver in December 2017 and have asked to have a sample sent to Foundation One for extensive genetic testing. They will also link the results to any possible treatments and clinical trials. This could help me to live a longer life which I will use to do what I have alway tried to do help people live healthier and meaniful lives as fitness, yoga and zumba instructor to the general public and an affordable fitness program for women on low incomes.
The results of this test could also help other woman who have this unresponsive and apparently aggressive type of cancer especially if they find it earlier than me. We know very little about breast cancer that is not estrogen sensitive and even estrogen sensitve breast cancer usally dose not respond to chemo.
Each test cost $6000.00. To start I need to see where the cancer cell are at now. I need this money as soon as possible. If you help me and I live long enough I would work toward setting up a fund to help others get this test. It is not conducted in Canada and is not covered by our health care system. Please help! :)
