Tuition for Summer Arts Program in Italy

Dear friends,

I have recently been accepted into the Summer Arts Program at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy. The Accademia is a very highly regarded performing arts school at which intensive programs in theatre, music, dance and other arts are offered. At the summer program, I would be taking two courses for college credit: an acting course in the ancient style of Commedia dell'Arte (a masked physical theatre), and a documentary film making class. I would also be studying Italian language and culture. I have been studying Italian for a few years already, and look forward to having a chance to improve my language skills and finally visit this beautiful country!

The program lasts a month and afterwards I will be spending about a week with my wonderful high school painting teacher in the small village of Castelvecchio Subequo in Abruzzo. This whole trip was made possible due to an invitation to spend time painting at her house in Italy this summer. I plan to leave for Italy on July 5th and return mid-August.

I have been wishing I could attend the Accademia for over two years now and finally have the opportunity. However, because the trip is coming together very last minute, I am not able to apply for scholarships and am in need of financial assistance. In total the trip will cost me about $7600. I have saved/raised about $1600, and my parents are hoping to be able to cover my plane tickets. This leaves me in need of about $5000. Over the next few weeks I will be working hard to try and make some more money myself. However, if you are able, any donation would be greatly appreciated!
