Audio Equipment damaged by Far-Right
Donation protected
On Saturday 11th July 2020 a group of nine of us counter-protested the 'March 4 Innocence' far-right rally. We brought a rented PA system. When we switched this on - we were attacked by a section of the far-right crowd led by 'heavies' who are closely associated with Ireland's far right.
The audio equipment sustained damage to the value of E1005. We had already paid the rental on it and are not fundraising for that. See screenshot from the invoice covering the damage below.
The target amount of this appeal is double that amount. We intend to make a donation of E1000 to a small LGBTQ support organisation in a town in the north-east. This arises from the fact that the LGBTQ community were the target chosen for demonisation by the rally we counter-protested. We would like in this way to turn this crap we underwent into something positive. Any excess raised over E2000 will go to the LGBTQ support organisation mentioned above.
We are reluctant to name the Sound Hire Company or the LGBTQ support organisation because of the way the far-right operate. If you contact Eamonn Crudden directly on FB or Twitter he will fill you in on both.
