Audacity Volunteers Uganda Food Distribution
Donation protected
Kigundu Stuart, program director of Audacity Volunteers Uganda Save Children (AVUSC) is leading an outreach in Uganda (areas of Nansana, Katooke, Kyebando, Nabweru and Wamala), to distribute food to poor people greatly in need of live-saving help during this challenging period. Due to the necessary lockdown in Uganda, many people, such as elderly and low income earners, have lost their jobs and have no income and no access to food. The AVUSC team is distributing bananas, maize flour, rice, sugar, beans, groundnuts, oil, salt and soap. So far the team has delivered food a total of 350 people (including street children and people in their homes). They have been providing daily meals at the center to the street children, as well as delivering food to the poor families within the communities, targeting the most vulnerable, such as elderly people and their grandchildren, and the street children. With additional funding, they will be able to provide life-saving supplies to many more in desperate need during this time. A portion of the donations may be used to provide medical help for the children.
