Athlete Transition Retreat

Donation protected

Hello,

My name is Dylan Moscovitch, and I'm a retired Olympic figure skater for Canada. Since retiring from competitive sport three years ago I've been going through a major life transition. This time has taught me so much about self discovery, deep healing and the existential crises that many athletes go through when it's their time to pack it in and transition into "normal life". Unfortunately, this isn't properly addressed and many athletes are left to fend for themselves after the roar of the crowd fades and they're left to face themselves on their own. I hope to change that.

Through partnering with Alanna Kit and Tanis Farrish (bios below), we have created a retreat for the end of this summer in beautiful BC. The goal of this retreat is to help athletes break through to their deeper layers by facilitating a programme designed to stimulate growth and healing. We aim to partner with athletes to start, or further, their own healing journeys and discover more peace and joy as they move through the difficulty of retiring from elite sport. Through sessions of breath work, yoga, discussion circles, time in nature, group cooking and integration sessions, we hope to create a powerful and beautiful experience for these athletes.

After representing their countries around the world and entertaining the masses, many athletes retire from their sport with financial struggle. Your donations will help to offset the costs for this pilot project, including accommodations, supplies, food and programming. So many athletes are in need of help and that is what is driving me to do this work.

Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

With love and gratitude,

Dylan Moscovitch

Dylan Moscovitch OLY

Dylan Moscovitch is a Toronto born, former Olympic figure skater.

During his time in competitive skating, he represented Canada for 18 years, most notably winning a silver medal in 2014 at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

Since his retirement in 2018, Dylan has kept busy on many fronts as he has transitioned his focus towards acting and screenwriting, tv hosting and commentating, coaching figure skating and power skating, motivational speaking and travelling with his fiancé, who competes on the WTA tour. All of these endeavours have kept him busy but it was when the pandemic hit in March of 2020 that Dylan really had an awakening. Like so many retiring athletes, Dylan struggled with the transition out of being an elite athlete and felt that not enough was done to help individuals, like himself, understand how to transform their way of thinking. This inspired him to dive deeper into understanding himself and studying ways to help others who struggle with this too. Dylan, aside from working on the development of this retreat, is now working as a wellness and mindset coach.

On a social justice note, Dylan is a passionately outspoken activist in support of LGBTQ2 and BIPOC rights, animal rights and environmental issues.
