La Bohème - A national tour of opera at bars.

Tax deductible
AtG is 10 years old!

Our Project
We're celebrating our ten years of indie opera by doing what we know best: live opera in bars, legions and everything in between. But this time, we are thinking BIG. La Bohème is the innovative AtG production that started it all and uprooted opera from the opera house. The Italian libretto was translated into English, and updated the 19th-century Parisian Latin-quarter setting to Toronto's historic Tranzac Club. This fall — we're partnering with Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity as traveling troubadours: from Banff to Toronto — before flying to the Yukon for their first opera in over 100 years!  We're stopping in towns and cities along the way, bringing our outside-the-box spin on opera.

Your Help Needed
WE NEED YOUR HELP to get us there. Our projects could not continue without the generosity of our community of theatre goers, and we depend on the support of everyone from ticket buyers to regular benefactors in order for us to achieve our artistic goals. Opera has not traveled in Canada for a long time, and we hope that this project can set a new standard for the kind of performing arts that get to be seen to towns that stretch across our country. Every donation truly counts, and those $25 and above receive tax receipts from our organization.

Meet Les Bobos (our Canadian cast): tenor Marcel D’entremont (Rodolfo), soprano Jonelle Sills (Mimì), baritone Clarence Frazer (Marcello), soprano Danika Lorèn (Musetta), baritone Andrew Adridge (Schaunard), bass-baritone Giles Tomkins (Colline) and baritone Greg Finney (Benoît and Alcindoro).

Bring Les Bobos chez-vous: Banff (September 27), Calgary (September 28), and Medicine Hat, Alberta (September 30); Regina, Saskatchewan (October 1); Brandon (October 2) and Winnipeg, Manitoba (October 4); Kenora (October 5), Thunder Bay (October 6), Sudbury (October 8), Toronto, Ontario (October 11-25), Whitehorse (November 4 & 5) and Dawson City, Yukon (November 7).

10 years, 12 cities/towns, $10,000.
