BOTH parents diagnosed with CANCER

Donation protected
Both parents diagnosed with Cancer!  That is hard enough on their two sons, not to mention them. But their car broke down, James lost his job because of that, and they have no way to get to treatments. They need help NOW.

Meet James and Arla Sims from Northern Colorado. James is a Husband, Father of two, Student, Caregiver and a great man. He has also recently been diagnosed with stage four metastatic prostate cancer at way too young of an age.  It has spread to his bones and the treatment for this cancer is aggressive, difficult and painful. His wife Arla has a brain injury. She is a strong woman. Six months ago Arla was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Her surgery is behind her, but treatment is ongoing.  She needs help to help her husband.  One of their children also has a brain injury. It is very overwhelming. What happens when the caregivers need a caregiver.

What
They are beside themselves because during this difficult time their car has broken down, is undrivable and is beyond repair.

The Need
Reliable transportation so that they can get to doctor visits, get the chemo, get groceries etc. James is also in college at UNC in Greeley. He would like to be able to keep going to school if his health allows.  So, the need is now.

How much?
They don't want luxury, they need dependable and snow worthy transportation. They are not asking for help, I am asking on their behalf. With a brain injury, the thought process is very hard. When stress is added, the ability to think and reason seems to disappear. Arla has so much on her plate right now she can't even think about the car right now.  She is having to try to arrange transportation with friends or acquaintances for every visit they have.  They can't afford to Uber. This is brain injury awareness month and every day is I hate cancer day.  Please help in any way you can.

What can you do?
Donate what you can. Even $2 will help. We are not asking for a lot. If you can give more it will be appreciated. If you can't give, please forward share this on your Facebook, and other social media sites. If you know of local programs in northern Colorado that help to these kinds of causes, bring it to their attention. If you know of a dealership that needs to donate a car to a worthy cause - let them know. If you can help get them back and forth to doctor visits or can fund getting them to doctor's visits that would also help.

Hug your family. Tell them you love them. Nag your husbands to get checked for prostate cancer at the right age.

What is the plan?
We want to make this the quickest gofund me ever. We can help by buying the car and getting it to them so that they don't have to worry. We have a list of about 6 cars that would fit the bill, but as you know low-cost cars go quickly and they may not be there now or tomorrow so the research will continue until we have the funds to purchase a car. The car needs to have heat, no immediate maintenance needs, good tires - what you would feel comfortable putting your parent or child in to drive safely from point A to point B. Since we are looking at a used car we would also have to pay to have it inspected to make sure it will be dependable and that it meets emissions requirements. They are having difficulty making their utility payments so any amount given above what is listed will go towards helping them with their day to day bills.
