Association of Tao Development

The Association of Tao Development is a non-profit organization that has been servicing local Bay Area communities for 20+ years.

Tao is the Way -- a path guided by the wisdom that is within each of us. The name, Tao Development, comes from the non-profit's mission to spark everyone's innate wisdom into action, to cultivate the Tao that is within each and every one of us.

What started as a simple fellowship in a volunteer's home has now grown into a fellowship of 300 regular members. The non-profit is home to a great number of programs, including: a teen volunteer program, teen leadership programs, health classes, environmental awareness programs, early childhood education, children's literature classes, vegan culinary classes, themed camps for attendees of all ages, just to name a few. A surge in attendees led to a desperate need for greater space to hold its programs and services.

A couple years ago, volunteers pitched all they could to purchase a property in San Lorenzo, CA, with the hope that they will find the funds to build a larger building onto this lot.

The funds proved to be no small amount. Demolition, grading, foundation, framework, electrical, plumbing, and everything that goes into construction of a 6000sq.ft. facility came at a price tag of $1.5m.

Due to a lack of funding, construction stalled. With every existing classroom filled to its capacity every week, permits reaching their expiration dates, and a risk that we would have to start from ground zero, it is critical that we proceed with the construction now.  We are VERY fortunate to find a contractor who is willing to work with us, knowing that the funds will come from donations and willing to see us through it all. He met with us and believed in us. We believe there is Good out there. We believe that somehow, some way, it will all come together. There is a Way.

There is no one on the payroll. Everyone is a volunteer. 100% of all donations will be used towards the construction and operation of the temple.

No amount is too big nor too small. Every donation, every good vibe and thought sent, every prayer said, will be reciprocated in this Circle of Life.
