Assistance with emergency root canal
In mid December 2020, I began to experience what I consider an intense toothache, followed by my gum swelling near the tooth on either side. The tooth shows signs of being loose as well, though I do not try to touch it often since it causes a flare of pain. I suffered for a few days, taking pain relievers such as Ibuprofen and Tylenol, doing salt water rinses. I even used a clove of garlic to try to fight the infection, as the internet suggested. Nothing seemed to bring any sort of lasting relief. It constantly throbs and is extremely painful, enough to break focus on my daily life. Finally, I broke down and set up a dental appointment, where I discovered I need a root canal along with a crown. They prescribed a ten day round of antibiotics in and effort to reduce the infection. The dentist will follow up in seven days time to see how I am doing and discuss further treatment. Earlier this year, I went through a similar ordeal, only the toothache was less painful so I didn't go to the dentist, and I ended up losing my right lower premolar. The tooth impacted this time is my left lower premolar and I would like to salvage it if possible.
I mainly stay at home and take care of my disabled mother. My brother lives with us as well and between his work and her monthly disability, we get by, but we are not set up for unexpected emergencies like this. The longer this goes untreated, the greater the chance the tooth will become completely dislodged and permanently lost. Any money donated will go towards paying for this costly medical expense. I appreciate any help towards getting this taken care of and getting back to a normal life.
