Hello, my name is Shelby. I am posting this on behalf of my husband because I am watching the stress and grief in his face on a daily basis and it is breaking my heart. Friday evening my husband’s father was settled in a hotel in California, and his last contact was made to family and to his son (my husband) on Friday. Saturday rolls around and no one was able to get in touch with my father in law. A missing person’s report was filed, as the hotel he was staying at was unknown. After so many phone calls to his cellular company, police stations, hospitals, about 50 hotels in Los Angeles we were unable to locate him, and my husband knew something had happened. Monday morning arrived and my husband continued to call my father in laws phone and a policeman picked up to inform him his dad was suspected to have had a medical episode in the hotel (he had heart issues and COPD) and was found deceased. My husband is grieving his father’s death, but is also throwing his hands up in the air not knowing how he is going to afford to transport our family from OKC to Boston where my father in law’s memorial will be. We have myself, my husband, two young boys, and a lap infant. As well as hotel, food, etc costs to consider. If anyone has any soon to be expiring airplane credits or anything that could help I would greatly appreciate it I am doing my best to give my husband some stress relief in this tragic situation.
