Unexpected Car Issues Followed Immediately By An Unexpected & Very Concerning Medical Diagnosis... I'm looking for any assistance, whether it be advice or monetary. Being semi-retired for some time now and now an empty nester, I recently took on a second part-time job at a place I actually wanted to work at since I was a child. I recently found myself upside down with payments on my 2013 Ford Focus, whose transmission just went out, and I don't know exactly what direction to go. I had gotten a little ahead in payments prior to this happening, and luckily I was able to get another part-time job, which I was going to use to help with my bills, including either fixing or selling my car and hopefully paying it off ASAP. I would be left with possibly a kinda crummy car, but at least I wouldn't be responsible for such high full coverage car insurance payments every month or anymore car payments on a non-running car.
So exactly 29 days after starting my new and second part-time job, I found myself in the ER. My husband rushed me there, and I spent the entire day there. They found a huge cyst on one of my ovaries, the size of a grapefruit, and it could be cancerous. Needless to say, I was also terminated from my new part-time job, even though I did everything I was supposed to as far as calling in and even submitting an official letter of resignation so that I could apply to work there again someday.
I'm so very scared, and my family is so supportive, but I need help. I really needed my new second job for the car situation, and now, including the fact that I am scheduled to go into student loan repayment again next year, after all this unexpected medical stuff and unexpected costs, I am looking for any assistance. I also truly believe that what goes around comes around. My family is devastated over this, and our finances are already tighter because I have been working limited hours at my regular part-time job I already had. Please help a woman who's supposed to be starting her next chapter in life and who is also looking to make a change in others' lives by hoping to become a substitute teacher if and when all of this boils over. Thank you for helping to keep me in a car by getting it paid off and/or fixed and getting myself a better small, tiny, just-the-basics car that I will be able to afford and last, so I can continue to get to work, God forbid.
If we don't get any more financial assistance, I am certain to have my car repossessed, and/or not be able to afford the car insurance I currently have, and my credit union will make me go with their insurance, which will be even more expensive, just creating this horrible domino effect that all could happen because I have had a horrible medical issue creep up on us and it has to be taken care of first. My husband and son have each already lost a little bit of work due to this, so if you can find it within to help me, you will be helping my entire family. God bless.
