Assault Victim Needing Help

On May 29th 2018 I was held hostage in my own apartment at knife-point. My ex-friend broke into my apartment that morning and waited all day until I came home. As soon as I walked into my bedroom he jumped up from behind the bed with a Spider-Man mask on and grabbed me by the throat and threw me onto the bed where he choked me and held the knife to me, yelling at me to stop screaming. I was absolutely terrified that I wasn’t going to make it out of my apartment alive. After about 45 minutes of this he told me that he was going to zip tie my hands together and at that point I knew if I let him do that, escaping was going to be even more challenging. All of a sudden as if a god send my phone started ringing and I told him that if I didn’t answer the phone my parents would be sending the police to check on me. So he told me to stay put and went out of my bedroom to get the phone. When he did that I ran out my front door. As I got the door open he tried to grab my arm but I shrugged him off. I was able to run to my neighbors who was luckily home and he called the police. When the police came I found out that he had stole my car and taken it across the border.

This situation has cost me about $8,000. I work in a school and do not just have an extra $8,000 lying around. I’m really just looking for a little help to rebuild my life after such a terrifying experience.
