Luke Stauts' MIRACLE in more ways than 1

A Miracle: Baby Luke, a newborn underwent a life-saving surgery for an intracranial hemorrhage (bleeding in his brain) secondary to a cerebral aneurysm, which occurs in less than 1% of children. Luke was airlifted and admitted over 1 month to a Pediatric ICU out of state. An emergent EVD was placed to drain the cerebral spinal fluid and blood from his brain. A few days later, he survived a potentially fatal brain surgery through an endovascular coiling method which is performed usually on adults. Luke had numerous procedures and was given heavy narcotics, paralytics, pain relievers and anti-seizure medications, to name a few. He had lines,tubes and needles coming from every end of his body. It was difficult to keep his vitals stable and he developed pneumonia, as well as needed a blood transfusion. Luke's mother, who begged God to take her instead, closed her private practice for months and is currently trying to get it back up and running again. The funds will assist the family with: 1) astronomical medical bills (only one bill they received was $148,139.97) and 2) his need for specialty formula (cost $500 a month) due to milk protein intolerance and acid reflux. Luke's disabilities are being managed with neurosurgeons and a developmental team of experts.
