Aslan and Bayindir Family Car Accident

Kardeslerimizi bu gurbette maddi ve manevi desteklerimizle sevindirelim. 

Dallasta ikamet eden Aslan ve Bayindir aileleri 20 Haziran'da Colaroda Springs yakinlarinda gecirdikleri kaza sirasinda agir yaralar almis ve bolge hastanelerine kimileri helikopter kimileri ambulansla sevk edilmistir.  Ilk acil mudahaleleri yapilmis olup, Yunus Bayindir gecirdigi ameliyat sonrasi 22 Haziranda taburcu edilmis ancak Emel ve Mehmet ciftinin ciddi kiriklari olmasi nedeniyle bir dizi ameliyata girmektedirler ve ne zaman hastaneden taburcu edilecekleri belirsizdir. Tekrar is yapabilir hale gelebilecekleri sure belirsiz olup 1 yili bulabilecegi tahmin edilmektedir. Bu surecte gurbetteki kardeslerimize ve cocuklarina yardim etmek icin sizlerin maddi manevi destekleri onlarin hayata tutunmalarina yardimci olacaktir.

Burda aile yakinlari yok, biz arkadaslari onlarin burdaki ailesi olup sahip cikmak istiyoruz. 
Mehmet Bey uzun bir sure eski isine donemeyebilir. Artik arabasi da kullanilmaz halde.
Emel Hanim yakinda USMLE sinavinin 2. basamagini alip yandala basvuracakti, Turkiyedeki gibi enfeksiyon hastaliklari uzmani olarak calisabilmek icin. 
Yunus Bayindir ise en az 3 ay calisamayacak. Rana Bayindir IT kursuna yeniden baslamasi gerekecek.
Iki ailenin de bu surecte duzenli gelen bir maaslari olamayacak.

Simdi lutfen bize yardim edin ki onlarin yarasina biraz da olsa derman olabilelim.

Our dear friends Aslan (of 4) and Bayındır (of 2) families from Dallas, TX experienced a terrible and tragic car accident on June 20th while driving in the same car near Colorado Springs. A truck from the opposite direction made a wrong overtaking and hit their car head-on.

 

 

Emel and Mehmet  were in the front seat of their van, Yunus Emre and Rana were in the middle seat and Sibel (13) and Murat (8) were seated in the rear seat.

 

Emel, Mehmet, and Yunus Emre were immediately flown to the nearest hospital from the accident scene by helicopter due to their critical conditions. Their 2 kids and Rana were taken to the hospital by ambulance and released from the ER the same day.

 

Yunus sustained a profound wound on his head and had an operation to close his head wounds. Additionally, Yunus had cervical and thoracic vertebrae fractures (broken neck), and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Yunus was released from the hospital on 6/22. He is going to wear a cervical collar for 6-8 weeks and continue with physical therapy before returning to his normal life.

 

Emel had multiple fractures of both legs, ribs, and left arm and shoulder and is in need of many consecutive surgeries. Mehmet had multiple ribs, vertebra, and clavicle fractures and sustained lung contusion.

 

Mehmet and Emel are in the same hospital room now, they need a series of surgeries and we don’t know when they will be discharged from the hospital which will be followed by many months of rehabilitation, hopefully  they are able to come back to their home in Dallas soon.

 

They don’t have immediate family members in the US and we are, as friends here to help them as family.

 

Mehmet will not be able to work for a very significant amount of time and they will need a car since theirs is wrecked.

 

Emel was just about to take her USMLE Step 2 examination and apply for an infectious disease fellowship and continue to work as a doctor, as she used to do in Turkey. There is much to be told about their story.

 

Yunus will be unable to work for at least 3 months and will wear a neck collar. Rana was in the middle of IT Bootcamp to become a SalesForce admin and will have to start over the course.

 

Both families will be out of income during recovery.

 

Now they are in need of support from us to help them recover from this unprecedented accident and tragedy.

 

The fund will be used for;

1- Transportation and accommodation expenses of the families in Colorado Springs (in or out of hospital)

2- Rent, clothing, food, and other living costs during the time of recovery and unemployment. We anticipate 3-4 months of recovery for Bayındır and 9-12 months of recovery for Aslan Family.

3- In-pocket Medical expenses during recovery or hospital stay (physical therapy, home nurse, doctor visits, medicine)
4- For immediate family member's US visa and travel expenses 

5- Legal fees incurred from any litigation and consultation
