Hey all. I've been really struggling with deciding on starting this GoFundMe or not. This is a peek into my personal life that I have been trying hard to keep to myself as much as possible. Almost 1 year ago on October 31st, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I had been shot in the back of my head. I felt a loud pop and that was the moment everything changed and life has been different ever since. I ended up in the hospital that night and later learned after being originally misdiagnosed, that I did in fact have a stroke. Since then, I have been diagnosed with multiple chronic/autoimmune (and one genetic) illnesses. As a result, I've accumulated a plethora of medical bills that have reached well into $10k+. Multiple ambulance rides that are 1,000's of $$ each time, multiple procedures, lab work, specialists, and medications, with more to come very soon. All of these bills are after insurance, but it's been too much. Financially we are not able to keep up. Ash works so hard and I'm doing everything I can to make sure I can keep my job, which I'm sure anyone with chronic illnesses can relate to. It feels impossible some days. Every day has become a battle. Every day is constant pain and uncertainty. Every day is pushing myself to get through a work day and trying to fight off flare ups, only to crash on the weekend from exhaustion. I'm doing my best. That's all I can do... but I am asking for help if anyone is able. There is a level of shame I feel in asking that I'm desperately trying to put aside... because I honestly don't know what else to do right now.
