Ashworth Family Medical Emergency

Donation protected
Hey! My name is Steph and I have started this campaign to raise money and gather support for the Ashworth family.

On Saturday, Jan 22 2022, while driving through Washington, USA. Ashley started to experience severe pain in her abdomen; this continued for several hours and eventually led to Ashley losing consciousness in the car. She was rushed by ambulance to a small local hospital, where it was determined that she had severe internal bleeding. The hospital was too small to accommodate the necessary urgent surgery, and plans were made to air vac her to Seattle. A powerful storm grounded the helicopter, and she would not survive the 4-hour ambulance ride. Around11pm, it was decided that the only option was to receive surgery at this small hospital to save her life. The staff there consulted via phone with specialists to navigate through the surgery and against all odds, Ashley made it through!

Throughout this ordeal, she lost 4L of blood, resulting in class 4 Hemorrhagic Shock and extremely low blood pressure. She needed 7 blood transfusions, several plasma transfusions and emergency abdominal surgery to remove a ruptured ovary and repair the hemorrhage. Ashley and Tim arrived home to Vernon on Jan 24th.

Anyone who knows this family knows that they are honest, hardworking and generous. Always willing to offer help and support to their families, friends and neighbors. Both Ashley and Tim were born and raised here in our beautiful community; Tim is a heavy-duty mechanic and in 2020 the Ashworth family purchased the local Snap-On tool franchise. They have been working 24/7 since to build their business and offer an amazing mobile service. They have 4 incredible boys who attend Vernon Christian School.

Through this campaign, I hope to support their family financially, with donations being used to cover the medical bills associated with Ashley's life-saving surgery. As they were out of the country; their insurance does not fully cover those expenses. Also, Ashley will have ongoing care to recover and with a young family to support; these donations will also be used to cover basic needs while Tim is off work. Being self-employed and taking time off of work can be very financially straining.

My hope is for our community to rally around this local family, giving them time to heal as a family and to soften the financial burden for them. At this time, Tim and Ashley ask for privacy and any questions or comments to be directed to this campaign.

Please share and donate if you can. If you want to contribute to the meal train, please contact me

Tim, Ashley and family are grateful for your love and support during this incredibly trying time.
