Ashley Yaklyvich is a 30 year old mother to 2 beautiful children (Landon & Leighton) & wife to her high school sweetheart (Jesse).
Both Ashley and Jesse grew up & graduated from high school in Ontonagon. They currently reside in Phillips, WI.
Together they enjoy fishing, golfing, spending time outside with their kids (human and fur) and being with their friends & family.
While nursing her daughter, Ashley discovered a lump that didn't go away after nursing or pumping. On March 16 an ultrasound was done on the area, and there was enough concern for further testing to be done. A breast biopsy was done March 29, and on March 30 the results came back it was breast cancer. Following the results of her breast biopsy a chest MRI, CT scan, bone scan, PET scan, Mammogram, & lymph node biopsy were all performed to fully evaluate her cancer. The PET scan showed areas of concern on the liver, a liver biopsy was done on April 19 and showed the cancer had spread to the liver.
Ashley & Jesse decided to seek treatment from Cancer Treatment Center of America in Illinois. They currently travel every 3 weeks and spend 2-4 nights depending on appointments & treatments needed during those visits.
While CTCA does offer some help & discounted rates, it's still a huge expense. Jesse is the family's only source of income and misses days of work to be with his wife. And even with insurance, medical bills are piling up. Not to mention the expenses of taking care of 2 small children.
Despite her harship Ashley and her family have maintained a positive attitude and are fighting forcefully with every intention of beating this disease. At this point, the family is asking for plenty of prayers, positive vibes & well wishes. Donations and support will be greatly appreciated and used to offset the costs they anticipate.
