Ashley's Mission Trip to Mozambique

Hi Everybody!
As many of you know and others may be completely shocked to hear, I will be working at an orphanage in Mozambique, Africa from October 3rd until mid-December. Serving people in the third world has been on my heart for many years now, and the dream is finally becoming a reality. In the last 6 months, it has been my fervent prayer that I would not choose to serve in a place where my own selfish desires would take me, but that God would clearly provide the place that he wants me to go. I was not expecting Africa, but the door unexpectedly opened and I believe that he is already there waiting for me to join him in his work. I am anticipating an incredible experience with God and the Mozambican people. While I'm in Mozambique, I will be living at an Orphanage with around 2,000 kids loving on them and helping with day-to-day activities in whatever way I'm needed. The people living in Mozambique are some of the poorest people in the world, so we will have outreaches in surrounding villages to show an out pouring of love and provision of basic survival needs. My hope is to shine a little light in a dark place, to come alongside those in desperate need, and also experience faith and trust in God like never before.
