Dear Napa and Beyond,
Our names are Haley and Garrett and we're raising funds for our sister Ashley who lost everything in the Soda Canyon fire on October 8th, 2017. She was alerted in her sleep that she needed to leave ASAP as a fire was close by and moving fast. She ran outside to see the fire getting closer coming over the surrounding mountains, embers flying around her front porch, and the sky bright orange. Terrified and realizing she only had a couple minutes, she grabbed her purse, cat George, and dog Juju and fled down the mountain. Below are photos she was able to take on her way down.
There was no time for her to grab any belongings, collections, valuables, heirlooms, or anything that meant the absolute world to her. She lost every single thing including her art supplies and computer programs she used for work. She didn't have renters insurance, so it's going to be very difficult for her to get back on her feet without a little assistance.
We are so grateful that Ashley, George, and Juju made it out alive just in time and continue to be amazed at the generosity and willingness of people to help her with donations. We have received clothes, toiletries, and some essential items; but we would also love to try and recoup some of the things that she lost, and give her a chance to start new with some of the funds to do so. At this time she mainly needs help with money donations to rebuild her life and afford a new place to make her own again. We are beyond thankful for anything!!
If you know Ashley, you know her compassionate personality and her willingness to help others. She has always been one to volunteer and donate to people in need especially when our community needs it the most. This time she needs our help.
