Ashley Dias Memorial Fund

On Wednesday, September 8, my son Ashley Dias (45 yrs old) ran into the street to push three children away from an SUV. I am so proud of him for saving their lives, but devastated that we lost him. He was the rock and pillar of our family.
It is no surprise that Ashley volunteered as a school crossing guard in his hometown, and then did this. When he was 14, his 8-year-old sister (and my daughter), Stephanie, died in a car accident. It affected him deeply.
Ashley was also extremely close to his 10-year-old god-niece, Angelique. Angelique is part of this same school district. Today, she walks to the accident site several times a day to re-arrange flowers and read the cards.
Ashley lived and worked in San Francisco as a researcher for clinical trials in cancer. He moved back home last year to help my husband and I navigate serious hospitalization and illness. He spent most of his free time with Angelique and was saving for her college education. He was funny, warm, ... an amazing son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and uncle/godfather.
Any funds raised via this page will go toward the family that he supported – specifically Angelique's college education, and my husband and my medical bills. Of course, it would also help with the immediate medical, funeral and burial expenses.
Please stay careful on these roads and hold your children close.
