An update for our donors: work is complete on the Asbury fellowship hall and kitchen and the church is using the new facilities. It is lovely and would not have been finished without your generosity. This summer grant-funded work on the front entry and steeple will complete the exterior renovations of historic Asbury church. We look forward to inviting you to visit later in 2022 for a re-dedication celebration.

Thanks to all our past donors!!!  We have made remarkable progress and could not have done this without you.  Please pass on our GOFUNDME link to anyone you think may be interested in our project.

Work is nearly complete but $25,000 is needed to reopen the doors.

Help Reopen the Church that Feeds Our Neighbors

We must raise money to complete renovations to the Asbury United Methodist Church fellowship hall and kitchen where service to the community, the hungry and the food insecure has helped many people for many, many years. The Hunger Coalition was started at Asbury.
During COVID the members of Asbury and their community partners were no longer able to prepare meals for the soup kitchen or meals for delivery without safe floors and mechanical equipment. The community responded in 2020 with $145,000 to meet additional construction needs in a time of rapidly rising costs. Work began in November, 2020.

Work is nearly finished on the completely renewed fellowship hall, newly laid out kitchen, and enlarged restrooms. During renovations unforeseeable issues were identified: hidden structural problems, undersized water and sewer lines, window repairs, and code required stair access to the rear roof. These extras necessitate additional fundraising.

To complete the job and open the doors, we must raise another $25,000.
