Art Alsbaugh was diagnosed with urorthelial carcinoma on July14, 2017. He battled this aggressive cancer, but his body could not fight any longer and went to his heavenly home on August 13, 2017 at the age of 76.
Art was transported by ground ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, CO on July 14. Then on Aug 9, he had to be air flighted to the MICU at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, CO, where he remained until his unexpected passing on Aug 13. Due to the transports by ground and air, tests, chemo, etc, the family is in financial need to help pay these medical expenses and other associated expenses.
"This was a man who needs no introduction as he lead a truly extraordinary life and left his mark on everyone he crossed paths with. He never knew a stranger nor did he ever not lend a helping hand to anyone. He will continue his selflessness as he donated his body to Cancer Research. He spent his life in the rodeo arena. He bought his RCA card at the age of 13. He competed in calf roping and steer wrestling. He ran the Alsbaugh Rodeo Company with his dad Walter Alsbaugh and later he and his life long partner and best friend Linda bought the Cross Triangle Rodeo Company. Art has worked as a pickup man, timed event chute boss, flank man, judge, and stock contractor in the rodeo world. He was also a wonderful role model, husband, father, uncle, brother and to most who met him a cherished friend. The world will be a little quieter without his world famous booming voice known for yelling "pulle'm down boys 'lets rodeo." You will be greatly missed by all. Thanks for all the memories.
