Art Zine 'PATHS' project - support extra costs

Donation protected

Hello friends near and far on this globe:

The creative team behind the PATHS project would like to ask for your donation to complete the Paths project.  Your generous donation, even a little sum, will be used for extra designing fees, translations and printing fees( now that Tibetan is added to the list) and mailing costs.

These zines will be distributed gratis, and it is our intention to connect as many people as possible through art. The thematic content of the zines  will be empathy,  co-existence, reconciliation,  peace and human rights. We want to reach a wide audience so the zines will be published in  five languages, maybe more.  Everybody gets one copy in a language of choice( English, Chinese , Japanese, Korean and Tibetan). Please read the short description below.

Project Description:

PATHS is a collection of zines that are curated around the art of Tomoyo Ihaya. Each zine reflects a collaboration between Ihaya and a particular writer. Writers from many cultures and countries were asked to participate and respond to the work, and each writer explores the images provided by Ihaya to create their own work. Every zine in the series is inspired by different cultural, social, and political territories. The work in PATHS is intended to provoke discussion, contemplation, and connectedness around the themes of compassion and empathy in the hopes of bringing a collective healing across many borders. The zines are printed in small batches and unfold into posters.

Funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and sponsorship from Wakayama Art Museum in Tokyo ( for a part of printing) has been received.  However, because the applicant forgot to include enough to cover all the costs for the translation fees, printing and mailing budgets in the grant application, we are in need of extra funding. We believe that this is a  meaningful project, especially during this pandemic time when many people feel isolated and are experiencing anxiety and may feel that they have lost a sense of empathy, interconnectedness and the capacity to feel compassion in their heart.  It is a challenging time for many of us and for the world in many aspects, but if you can please spare what you can, we would truly appreciate your kindness and empathy.

We would like to give a little gift to express our gratitude, according to your donation amount, although we appreciate each of you equally.
