Art & Performance CTR. of W. Toledo Fundraiser

The Art and Performance Center of West Toledo is a community creative space designed to promote local creative opportunities. The center is in need of funds to create a large mural on the side of the building at 2702 W. Sylvania Ave. This mural will provide awareness of the center, an amazing photo opportunity destination in the area, and more traffic to keep the place in the public eye. There are no places in Toledo that provide as many creative outlets as the APCWT does. It is a gallery, performance space, classroom and studio space.
For two and a half years the Art and Performance Center has been providing the West Toledo community affordable classes and performances in visual and sculptural art, improv, creative writing, dance, yoga, and songwriting. The center provides magical and creative experiences for patrons of all ages, as well as an affordable event space for the community. Stop in to a monthly gallery show to support your local talent.
Miriam Wagoner, the owner, is always uplifting, promoting, and encouraging local talent to reach for the stars. The space provides way more for creatives and creation consumers than just a space. It’s a space that we all need in our community because everyone needs a place that is free of bias, prejudice, and judgement to retreat to. The APCWT is filled with welcoming love for every soul who walks through the door.
We all fall on hard times at some point and there are a wide range of reasons for that. In this case, business is slow and the building holding this amazing place is so plain its almost invisible. We are asking the public to please donate to this amazing cause. We are raising money for supplies to create an eye-catching mural by famed local muralists Chris Rodriguez and Connor Degnan.
The community that Art and Performance Center of West Toledo is in would be at a loss without the place. I encourage people who are unaware that it exists to stop in and take a class, listen to a poetry reading, or come in and watch live musicians or an improv show! They won’t regret it. Please help us and show support for the center and all that it inhabits now and in the future.

Quotes from the community....

“I had my first full gallery show at the Art and Performance Center of West Toledo. It was a huge boost for me to take my painting seriously. We’ve had countless poetry readings and writing workshops there. And of course there’s all the other art, music, and improv.
The APC is an important part of the very broad artistic community in West Toledo, and Miriam Wagoner is right at the center of it.”

"The Art and Performance Center of West Toledo is one of the gems of Toledo! APCWT provides many services to our community; a variety of art classes for all ages, music venue for a variety of styles and a venue for the presenters of the written word as well as other activities. Our city is blessed with many talented artists in all disciplines of the arts. As an artist, I love the space, the people (Miriam is #1), and the opportunities to expand my artistic horizons."

"I met Miriam Wagoner when she first opened APCWT and the positice creative energy that rolls off this woman is overwhelming. She truly is a beautiful person and has created a safe haven for dreamers to positively live out their creative dreams. We need this place and people need to be more aware of what it offers. Without Miriam a.nd her dream, i may not ever have stepped out of my shell and became an art teacher as well as a better artists. It/she promotes, urges and pushes us to our creative limits"
