Arlene's surgery in Saskatoon

We are looking for help funding an out of Province Pancreatic Cancer operation in Saskatoon. Manitoba Health will not cover any part of the surgery, hospital stay, travel or accomodations.
Arlene was diagnosed with cancer in September 2015, a month later she had a major operation ( whipple surgery). After 10 days in the hospital, three months recuperation at home and six months of chemo therapy she seemed to be cancer free. Eight months later blood tests showed something was wrong -the cancer was back.
The doctor advised that surgery on the same area was extremely dangerous and because of where the tumor is situated, Radiation couldn't be used. This is when "Nano Knife Surgery" was brought to our attention. After checking it out on the internet we found Nano Knife technology is fairly new, which is why Manitoba Health will not fund it.
The operation has been used in Germany for appoximately 12 years, in the U.S. for 10 years and Saskatoon for 3 years with good results. After going over the results of her tests, the surgeon in Saskatoon said Arlene would be a very good candidate for this procedure. The impact on the patient is small compared to other surgery (Hospital stay 2-5 days).
The operation cost is $38,000 for non Saskatchewan residents and the stay in Saskatchewan is 14 to 20 days so our goal is $42,000.
Arlene is a 59 year old Baba(grandma) of three, 2 girls ages 4 and 2 and 1 boy 8years old. Since she went on chemo therapy again 6 months ago, she has barely seen them. Her immune system is very low and a cold or fever would be dangerous. In the last 6 months she has lost over 40 pounds and a lot of her strength.
She can no longer play with her grandchildren or her dog, garden, bowl, visit friends or even go shopping. She has spent the last 6 months in our home. The only option other than the Nano Knife Surgery is to contiue on Chemo Therapy for as long as she survives. We have found this is not much of a life at all.
