Helping with Cancer Bills

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, 2018.

My beautiful friend Tracie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on February 14, 2018 and thought her journey was almost over.  She endured months of Chemotherapy, lost all of her hair and then was told she needed a double mastectomy after the chemo, followed by 6 weeks of radiation, and then there would be a ‘delayed’ breast reconstruction surgery that would be 6 weeks after radiation was completed.

Her radiation treatment has been delayed two times because her wound wasn’t healing completely.  Her right side had a 1” section that just wouldn’t close.  The Surgeon decided that she would just stitch it shut.  As she started to stitch, she felt some nodules and there was some unusual redness present, so the surgeon decided to biopsy the two areas ‘just in case’.

Today, Tracie went in to have the stitches removed, and got the horrible news.  The surgeon informed her that the biopsy of the skin came back as cancer.  This was a devastating blow for both surgeon and my sweet friend.  Now it is back to her Oncologist.

As she was telling me of her latest hurdle, she broke down.  She is more worried about being able to pay her bills than fighting any more.   Having been on short-term disability from her last surgery, she has fallen behind on all of her bills.  On top of her medical bills, she’s going through a divorce and has a vehicle that needs repair, badly.  I begged her to let me help her, but she refused.  Her reply “I am not the type of person to ask anyone for money”.

She may not be that type of person, but I'm not afraid to has for help.  So I am reaching to to my friends, her friends, your friends, anyone.

Please help me help my friend.  Friends help friends.  Show her that she isn’t alone on this journey.   If you’re not able to help financially, please add her to any and all prayer circles that you have.

God bless you all,
