Our Beautiful Areyah: A Fight No Baby Should Face

Update – 26/01/2026

Our beautiful baby girl Areyah-May has sadly developed two further infections: Klebsiella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, after already fighting so incredibly hard to overcome others.

These infections were identified by the hospital on 19/01/2026. On 20/01/2026, Areyah suffered a cardiac arrest. We have since been told that these infections can cause cardiac arrest when a baby is critically unwell and on a ventilator. Areyah is still fighting, but we have been told that if she were to need CPR again, she may not survive it. We are living in constant fear, praying with everything we have that she does not go into cardiac arrest again, as next time could be fatal.

This is news no parent should ever have to hear. Our hearts are completely breaking, but we will continue to update everyone as we learn more.

Through all of this pain, we are trying to hold onto something positive. Two incredibly kind young lads have offered to organise a 10k charity run to raise awareness for Areyah and to show support for our family.
The run will take place on Thursday 29/01/2026 at 5pm, starting at Witton. We are simply asking if anyone would be willing to take part or donate.
If you would like to get involved, please find the lads on Facebook:
Dylan Lee Hall-Hartley & Callum Wilson — both already have sponsor sheets available.

Please, let’s come together and wrap this family in love and support

We have also created a TikTok page so you can follow Areyah’s journey. Please go and follow and share this beautiful little fighter’s story

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has shown love, shared our posts, followed, donated, and sent messages of support. We are taking each minute as it comes, praying and hoping with everything we have that Areyah keeps fighting. She has already shown us how strong and brave she truly is.

Please keep Areyah in your thoughts and prayers

Update ; (21/01/2026)
Now that I’ve had a proper meeting, I wanted to give everyone a little update.

The consultant spoke with us and explained just how unwell Areyah-Mae is — worse than she has ever been. He told us there is nothing more that can be done medically, and that if her heart were to stop again, attempts to restart it may not work. He also shared that yesterday she suffered a cardiac arrest and was gone for six minutes before they were able to bring her back

We’ve been shown Areyah-Mae’s lungs, and while they are poorly, the doctors have explained everything clearly and are continuing to monitor her closely. There are small holes in her right lung that are affecting the left, but they’ve said there is still hope, and right now we’re holding on to that.

This isn’t about hours or days; we’re taking everything minute by minute with Areyah-Mae. While there are still uncertainties, we’re keeping our faith strong and trusting in her incredible strength.

For the moment, they’re keeping her settled and as comfortable as possible and letting her body rest while they see how she responds. She is still sedated and on the support she needs, and will be for some time. There is a chance that her lung can heal, and although the road ahead could be long, we’re taking everything one step at a time.

If anything changes, I’ll be contacted straight away. For now, she’s continuing to fight, and we’re letting her do just that

There have been some positives today — they’ve been able to turn a few things down on the ventilator, and her blood pressure is stable at the moment, which we’re incredibly grateful for.

Areyah-Mae can fight this, the journey ahead may be months of hospital care, but with faith, love, and the incredible support around us, we truly believe she can do this.

Please can we all continue to pray for our strong little girl Areyah-Mae while she keeps fighting
She has already come so far on this long, hard journey — keep fighting, baby girl, your fight isn’t over yet

As a first-time mum, this has been the most frightening experience of my life. I would never wish this pain on anyone. The love, support, prayers, messages, and comments have meant more to us than you’ll ever know

Thank you all so much for standing with us.

Update(10/01/2026)
Demi hasn’t had the best news about Areyah-Mae from the very beginning. From day one, the balloon has repeatedly been put in incorrectly, which has affected her lungs and meant they weren’t getting enough air. They also put a line in her leg, and Demi had been telling them for nearly a week that her foot was swelling, but this was ignored. Yesterday, she was then told that her leg has a blood clot.

Today, it was discovered that the breathing tube has a hole in it and hasn’t been working as it should. About four to five days ago, another nurse raised concerns about this with a senior nurse, who said it was common for the tubes to be like that. Now it’s suddenly a serious issue.

Nearly two weeks ago, they put a urine bag on my grandchild, and now Demi has been told it was done incorrectly, and there is blood in her urine.

Despite all the bumps in the road, this little girl continues to fight, surrounded by her mum, dad, and family every step of the way. The love and support Areyah has received mean more to us than words can say.

For those who have asked, the GoFundMe link is available, and we are truly grateful for all the love, support, and donations during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Please Help Baby Areyah -Mae Fight For Her Life.

Hi everyone, we’re reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of tiny Arayha-Mae, who was born 9 weeks premature and is now 8 weeks old.

After spending 4 weeks in intensive care, she finally came home – but within just 2 weeks, she was rushed back to hospital with severe infections affecting her lungs, liver, and heart, alongside inflammation on her brain. Doctors are still unable to find the source of these infections, and we’ve been told her condition is critical.

Arayha-Mae was placed in a coma for a few days to help her body fight, and while she’s now awake, she’s connected to multiple tubes and medical equipment as she continues her battle. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know this will be an incredibly long road ahead for her and her parent Demi.

The costs are mounting – from travel back and forth to the hospital, to covering everyday living expenses while they focus on their baby girl. Every penny raised will go directly to supporting Arayha-Mae’s care and easing the burden on her family during this impossible time.

Please, if you can, donate what you can. If not, share this page widely – every bit of support helps.

Thank you for standing with Arayha-Mae and her family.
