Arecibo, PR Hurricane Relief

My name is Alexis Cruz. I live in Gloucester, Ma but half of my family, including my Abuela, aunts and cousins, lives in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. As everyone knows by now, Puerto Rico was recently hit by Hurricane Maria causing what has been described as "apocolyptic conditions". 


Despite a lack of electricity and cell signals, recently our family members in Arecibo have been able to get into contact with us. While their spirits are high, we learned that a couple family members lost the roofs of their houses to the storm. On top of that, the store that they would need to go to for food is over half an hour away and access to gasoline is extremely limited.


While Puerto Rico has seen plenty of bad storms, none in the recent past have resulted in this kind of devestation. All donations will be extremely appreciated and will be sent to my family in Arecibo to help with fixing their homes, providing gasoline for their cars, and food.

Our current plan is to have me withdraw the money and then send a check out to our family in Puerto Rico. Due to the lack of electricity and internet access, they will not be able to withdraw it themselves so this seems to be the only plausible option.
