Help Chandler in his fight against Cancer (DIPG)

“Chandler is an amazing 9 year old kid, smart, funny and kind. He has a big sister Cammie who is 11 and a labradoodle named Frankie, he adores them both. In late January Chandler started suffering from headaches and spells of vomiting- it was initially chalked up to a virus by his Doctor. In February his family were told he had brain Cancer. A diffuse midline glioma- the most devastating of all childhood cancer diagnosis. The tumor is inoperable and currently there are no known cures. Radiation is offered as a treatment to buy time- sadly this is generally 9 months to 2 years. Chandler’s Mum and Dad were sent home and told to make memories. The only glimmer of hope for kids like Chandler is the chance to partake in clinical trials.

Throughout his journey Chandler has been so brave, enduring 6 weeks of intensive radiation and multiple stays in hospital. He has been so strong too, going to school so that he can see his mates and enjoy as much normality as possible.

We are asking for help because if Chandler is accepted into a trial his family may need to travel- this means time off work. Cancer stops a lot of things but it doesn’t stop Mortgage repayments and the cost of living.

Right now despite his prognosis Chandler is doing well, he still has his mobility and it hasn’t affected his bright and bubbly personality despite suffering headaches. Sadly there is no way of knowing how long Chandler may have before a decline in his physical health. We really want to help Chandler and his family to be able to focus on what’s important- time together at this extremely difficult time.
