April Peeler Medical Crisis

Any of you that know April, knows that she is an amazing mother, friend, coworker and a generous and kind person. You also know that she is independent and self sufficient. But what none of us know is the moment we are stricken with illness or disease how quickly our lives can be turned upside down by the physical and emotional toll of fighting a health battle compounded by the financial stress. UNTIL it happens to you. For two months April experienced several baffling and unusual symptoms. On May 5, 2017 she was admitted to FMC and has been an inpatient since that time. She has been seen by a rheumatologist, infectious disease specialist, pulmonologist as well as teams of hospitalist and other physician consults. She is experiencing double pneumonia that immediately recurs following intravenous antibiotics with no explanation or diagnosis as well as muscle issues/pain. The physicians have collectively advised that they have explored every avenue but cannot explain nor diagnose what is wrong, and all treatment has been ineffective. They will be transferring her to Emory (or another facility) when a bed becomes available. Due to her physical condition she is unable to work. Until she is diagnosed and appropriate treatment initiated, and fully recovered she will be unable to work. She is currently dependent on oxygen and still short of breath and struggling to breathe. April has depleted her savings and has applied for assistance but the process takes 45 to 60 days and even then the assistance will be limited medical assistance. In the meantime she has the same expenses but no income. It is our goal to provide her three months of living expenses to maintain her apartment, transportation, utilities and needs of her dependent child. April lives very frugally and her monthly NEEDS are 1600$ per month......April, her family and myself are grateful and appreciate ANY contribution you are able to make. We are grateful for any amount.  But just to share how we TOGETHER can make a difference..... if 50 people contribute 100$ or 100 people contribute 50$... we can reach this goal.  Or if 500 people donate  10$. It's not the amount that is important but that it is that WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE for April. TOGETHER we can keep April in her home and stable for her child. We can provide her peace of mind and security so she can focus on recovering.
