Help Mend A Broken Heart

Asher James was born on August 26th, 2014 in the IWK in Halifax.  He is a fraternal twin with his little sister Spencer. When their mother was 18 weeks pregnant, it was discovered that Asher had pulmonary artisia and a ventricular septal defect. During his short, little life, Asher has undergone 2 open heart surgeries. The first when he was just 14 days old, and the second when he was 18 months.In between the two surgeries adn since then, Asher has had 2 cardiac catherizations and multiple admissions to both the IWK in Halifax and the DECH in Fredericton, for excessive weight loss and decreased oxygen levels.  Unfortunately, his last open heart surgery has started to fail and he needs to go for his third open heart surgery this October. As with most families, we are all on a tight budget. Any medical issues that arise can strain those budgets. There is also many unforseen expenses not convered by Medicare; such as lodging, meals, fuel, and lost wages. Ashers mom (my niece), Kristen, is a working, single mom to Asher's three other siblings. With Asher needing a minimum 7-day stay at the IWK after his surgery, along with another 6 week (minimum) post-op  recovery, it will put the family in a tight financial position. Seeing as Kristen is not a person who readily asks for help, I have decided to start this GoFundMe page to help  try and alleviate some of this financial strain.  If you could please share this with as many people as possible, maybe we can reach our goal and allow Kristen one less thing to worry about while Asher goes through his next open heart surgery.
