Help Anton Fojan "Beat-Up" Cancer

Our names are Jen (Walsh), Lisa (Reichelt), Michelle (Rowlett) and Pam (Fojan), respectively known as the "Fojan Girls". As many of you know, our father, Anton Fojan, just over one year ago, received the beautiful gift of a much-needed kidney transplant after five years on dialysis. He was doing wonderfully thanks to the amazing family that donated a very special kidney.
Unfortunately, around the time of his first kidney birthday (June 4th), he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Detected following several months of a sore throat that just wouldn’t go away. In disbelief, we watched our parents try to manage his treatment plan with the reality that the chemo/radiation treatment could potentially harm his newly donated kidney. Our parents consulted with both Beaumont Royal Oak team and New York's Sloan-Kettering, thanks to the encouragement of cousin Al. Sloan agreed with Beaumont's plan, which made treatment conveniently located only four miles from the house.
Our father started treatment on July 24th and his prognosis is excellent. As of now, he is doing fantastic considering everything at stake. He spends lots of extra time before and after radiation getting flushed with extra fluids so his kidney will have a better chance at survival.
Our parents raised us to be self-sufficient and hardworking. It has never been our desire to ask for money. The unfortunate reality is that you can spend your life being financially responsible, have great insurance, a savings account for retirement, and a good job, but one serious illness (or two, in the case of our dad) can still overwhelm you financially.
Mounting medical bills from the kidney transplant and now radiation and chemo have taken a toll on our family financially especially since dad cannot return to work until after his cancer treatment. With all that said, we are asking you to help our parents. Your generosity will go toward the medical bills and daily expenses until he can return to work.
