I would like to try and raise some funds for my uncle Anthony who was diagnosed with liver cancer last year. Anthony has been paramount in my own recovery and I would like to try and do something to help him now.
The latest scan he had on Monday last, August the 14th is showing an increase in the spread of melanoma on his liver.
The Oncologist painted a rather gloomy picture and has taken him off the current chemo drug he was on saying its "not working" and he wants to put him on another type of chemo drug . After a discussion with him about the probability of this new chemo drug having any positive effect, which is very very low Anthony has decided to return to California and try to get into one of the many clinical trials available to him as an American Citizen with medical coverage.
The clinical trial that would give him the best shot at extending his life is called Target Therapy (tumor infiltrating lymphocytes) but he has to pay for the genetic sequencing required to get into one of these clinical trials it cost $5000.00. I am asking my friends to consider making a donation to help him offset the cost of getting back to California and getting into one of these trials.
All donations however big or small would be greatly appreciated.
