Hello, Friends. It with a heavy heart that we must say "see you later" to Anthony Valladolid. Anthony unexpectedly passed away in his home on the evening of January 3. Though the cause is still unknown, we believe he may have had a heart attack while napping. He just went to sleep.
Anthony was one of a kind. Beaming smile, riotous sense of humor, and a loving soul. He loved all things sports, but baseball was was his passion. Ant coached Pop Warner football and made his mark in the baseball/softball community as an umpire. Probably his most inspiring trait was his role as a father to Lil' Ant. If you had the privilege to witness their special relationship, then you know what I mean. Fatherhood was his true calling, always striving to follow in his own father's footsteps.
So many called this man friend. The outpouring of love, prayers, and support has already been so helpful and comforting to his mother, Mary Ellen, brother, Erik and the rest of our family. Many of you have seen this family through tragedy before, and are here for us, yet again.
We would like your donations to ensure that:
1) Mary Ellen will not be saddled with debt from the cost of laying another son to rest,
2) Lil' Ant has everything he needs for school and to pursue his inherited passion for baseball (he went to practice last night because he knew that's what his dad would have wanted).
