Anthony Shaler Jussen

Anthony Shaler Jussen, a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend tragically and unexpectedly passed away this past Friday. Anthony was filled with so much life yet had so much more to live. For those who knew and loved Anthony you knew how passionate he was. In everything he did and everyone he cared for. He was incredibly bright, and most definitely competitive. He was always striving to be the best he could be. Anthony suffered from mental illness. But he never let that hold him back. He got up, showed up, and did his best every single day. Anthony was admirably passionate. When his mind was set on something he pursued it, whether it be a career, a hobby, or his family. Not only would he pursue it but he would succeed. He made sure he knew everything he could and loved to teach everyone about it. His conversations were filled with devotion. Anthony did this without a care in the world about what others thought. A trait we should all learn from him. Despite all he suffered, Anthony always stayed true to himself and the ones he loved. Never hiding in fear of what others would think or believe, never letting it hold him back from who he wanted to become. If anything Anthony wanted to help everyone understand what they couldn’t. He always would sit down with you and tell you all about his interests, what drives him, and how he was overcoming any set backs. To hear Anthony speak about his passions was inspirational. Anthony has taught and will continue to teach us to always go full force into what you love, who cares what others think- to help them understand, and to love passionately. And to always be competitive at family game night. One of Anthony favorite places to visit, especially with the entire family was Woodloch PA. Everyone would get together in one place, which is all Anthony ever wanted. Was to be with all the ones he loved the most.

In loving memory of Anthony we would like to give the Jussen family a place to go to always remember him. Especially at a place where Anthony loved most. A bench and plaque would be dedicated to Anthony in Woodloch PA.  Where everyone could all come together, just like he always wanted. And when the family is not gathered there, he will always have a spot to sit at with his daddy, grandma and Nana to continue to watch over the family.

For those who would like to do something but don’t know what, this would be the perfect gift. Anything you could give would be more than appreciated. This family has gone through the unimaginable. Let’s give them a place of peace.

Thank you on behalf of the Jussen family and from the bottom of my heart. Remember to always kiss your loved ones and tell them you love them while they are still here. Everyday is a gift.
