Anthony Hlavinka Memorial Fund

On Sunday, June 4 our beloved husband and father, Anthony Hlavinka, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer.  He loved the Lord with all his heart first and foremost, and after that, he simply loved PEOPLE.  Of course he loved his family, but even if you weren't a member of his family, he treated you as if you were. He was a wise counselor to both the young and old.  He spent many nights sitting with friends and acquaintances offering counsel or just a listening ear.  He had a vast library of his own from which he would loan out or give books away so that he could help others.  For the last 24 years, he spent his days with the children at Brazos Elementary School counseling, teaching, and showing these young souls how to be the best person they could be.  For this reason, we have created this account.  In lieu of flowers, we are accepting donations on behalf of the Brazos Elementary School Library.  We have set the goal at $1000, but honestly, we are not expecting anything except a place for people to honor and memorialize Anthony in the way he requested prior to his death.  He did not want money to be spent on the flowers and things that represented his death, but rather, on things that would represent his life's work. He was a great man of character and wisdom and as his family, we cannot think of a better way to honor him.
