First off Team Palmer consist of Nick (dad), Jeannie (mom), Jesyka (21), Jake (15), Benji (7), Brady (6) and of course Howey the dog.

After going thru 2 deployments in 5 years the Palmers were hoping to move forward with a ''normal" life.

On April 2nd Nick had a life saving open heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. The operation was successful and Nick has been doing an exceptional job rehabilitating. This was a major life changing experience for a soldier of 20 years, firefighter and physical fitness enthusiast. Nick has been off work since then and is looking forward to going back in July.

While Nick was still in the hospital, Jake their 15 year old son was diagnosed with a tumor/mass in his knee. He had surgery in May and they were very fortunate to find out the tumor was benign. Being an active teenager, Jake bounced back quickly and is looking forward to getting back to hockey soon.

Mom, Jeannie, has been sick on and off for 3 years. After a laparoscopy in March she was diagnosed with extreme, stage 4 endometriosis. The disease has been debilitating and Jeannie has been on leave from work since before Nicks last deployment and her last knee surgery in the fall of 2011. Jeannie is scheduled for surgery. They are planning on a hysterectomy, appendectomy and dissection of the endometriosis. The previous scope showed the endometriosis on her uterus, ureters, bladder, intestines, Fallopian tubes, ovaries, and appendix. It's possible that the endometriosis is also on the stomach, liver, gall bladder, kidneys and pancreas. Since the endometriosis has been there so long there's a possibility they might find cancer but all blood work has been normal. She will not be able to go back to work for 6-8 weeks.

It's been a rough few months for the Palmers and with little money coming in and medical bills piling high they could use some help as well as many prayers.

Please share their story with any family or friends that you think would like to help out or just send up a few prayers.

Update: I just found out that I will need another surgery for my endometriosos. I will have it this week or next depending on mri results tomorrow. I also will need a lump removed from my breast. As of right now they say it looks okay but it needs to be removed for further diagnosis. Send up some prayers once again.
