Another Battle For Mary Shoemaker

This is for a great friend and follow co-worker and a short description of her struggle.
In September of 2010, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Refusing chemotherapy, Mary got a double mastectomy in November of that year, and had several reconstructive surgeries all the way through August 2011. Since then, had been doing very well, especially with the kind of cancer She was diagnosed with. Unfortunately, a new tumor had developed and had been removed in March of last year (2016). Even though a new tumor had been found, things still looked good due to it being a single encapsulated tumor. Things, again, seemed to be fine, up until around April of this year (2017). She had went from playing Pickle-ball a few times a week to hardly at all, my appetite began to decrease, and as a result, Mary lost over 20 pounds in only about 6 weeks. With a lack of appetite and an upset stomach, not to mention the terrible fatigue, not being able to sleep, and pain in my abdomen, it was time to see a doctor. Just as the family had assumed, it was cancer again; however, it wasn’t breast cancer this time. She was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. They immediately began having whatever tests that were necessary done before proceeding with treatment. Now the struggle will be making it through the upcoming treatments to get healthy for not only herself, but also her family.
It breaks my heart to see this lady go another round at this. Every little bit will help.
