Annie needs emergency surgery

Donation protected
Hey everyone, Annie is a 5 year old Pitt and Frenchie mix. I rescued her a little over 4 years ago from a shelter. She’s a trucking dog who travels the US with me as we hustle & bustle across the nation. She is afraid of plastic bags but defended me against a snake once (the harmless garden-variety, but she didn’t know that, she was just being the bestest girl).

On December 12th she started acting different. She was cowering and shivering. It was out of the blue, nothing had happened, we were confused. By the end of the day she ended up looking a lot better so we figured it was just an upset stomach or something else minor. By the next morning she had lost all mobility from her midsection down. After being taken to the vet she was diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease.

It was something that was slowly happening over time but we had no way of knowing. She is my absolute best friend and the most amazing dog in the world. She’s never done a mean or spiteful thing in her life, she is the most pure creature on this planet. She’s only five years old, she just turned five in November. That’s too young to let her go.

I need help affording the MRI (Update: already covered) and possibly surgery. (Update: surgery is absolutely necessary)

When she is not on the truck with me, she spends time with my five-year-old nephew. They are best friends. She snuggles with him every night & has always guarded him with her life.

Not only is she a courageous certified truck dog, but she’s the biggest softie with an extensive family who loves her so incredibly much. This his dog is not only precious to me but to so many others.

With her specific diagnosis there is a relatively high success rate, especially for her being only five. UPDATE: there is very little chance she will ever gain mobility back but that’s ok, we kind of figured that after the first few days. The surgery will get her out of pain & into a new & exciting life of being what we have dubbed a “mermaid dog.” She will never use her back legs again but she will fitted with a set of wheels to her back half.

All aftercare, house modifications, medical equipment (wheelchair), & future vet bills will come out of my pocket. We can absolutely provide the help she will need in the future. We just don’t have the money for her emergency surgery. Anything you can spare is a great help.

This dog doesn’t deserve this. She’s the sweetest creature to ever walk this earth. She has been the absolute light of my life for the past 4+ years & I want to give her a fighting chance to live a happy & healthy (in her new way) life.

She’s all over my Instagram (@truck_stop_royalty) & my TicTok account (truck_stop_royalty). You can also have hourly updates on her through Snapchat: MadBikeWoman (my video updates on the actual GFM app aren’t working for some reason)
