Annie’s brave battle
As some of you may be aware on Friday the 13th of November my best friend Shauni and her partner Tom received the news no parent wants to hear, that their daughter Annie had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. They have been ensured that this is ‘the best’ type of cancer she could have with a good recovery rate, but the road ahead for the family of 5 will be long and tough. Annie is a bubbly, adventurous and cheeky almost 3 year old with the whole world at her feet. She is just the kind of strong willed girl that will fight this with everything she has. This diagnosis means a lot of trips back and forth to Melbourne for treatment. This will have a huge impact on Shauni, Tom and the family. They also have 1 year old twins at home in Portland to care for, they both work casual jobs and rent a house here in Portland so the financial impact due to what could be many days or weeks away at a time for treatment with no income will be huge! Money is the last thing I want them thinking about in their time of need, I’m sure they would appreciate any donation no matter how big or small to ease the tiniest bit of stress!
Thanks Ash x
