Anna’s Fight Against Leukemia
Anna is a truly kind and amazing 12 year old, who is in a fight for her life. Anna hasn't had it easy... at 7 years old Anna had a freak accident and broke her hip which kept her at home for several months recovering. At 9 years old she was diagnosed with Bone Marrow Failure (MDS) and Monosomy 7 , after Chemo and a Bone Marrow Transplant Anna was in remission for 3 years. After some time Anna was able to return to school, hang out with friends, go on vacation and play with her animals. Her family got the shocking news this spring at a routine check up that AML was taking over fast. Anna started treatment right away, she was in the hospital for 3 months where she went through two harsh round of Chemo and lots of testing in hopes for a second Bone Marrow Transplant. Unfortunately they found another genetic marker that makes prognosis poor, GATA 2 and the two rounds of Chemo were not successful. Anna begins her third round of Chemo this week started a new daily Chemo combination that is mainly used in patients 70+ to hopefully put her into remission so she can get the transplant that she needs.
When I say that Anna is amazing I mean she is AMAZING! She has a special brightness about her! Anna is a good friend, very talented artist, she really loves animals, has a funny sense of humor and always has a positive attitude!
Going through a huge medical journey like this is long and expensive so doing this a second time even more so and now extra stressful due to COVID.
If you are able to help in Anna’s fight please do because this wonderful family could really use your kindness and support. Please send a prayer, share or leave an encouraging message... If you are able to donate it is deeply appreciated!
