Hello, family and friends in the Philippines and those living in different parts of the world.
This page has been set up by Anna's friends Ging & Jenny to bring together the prayer warriors & well-wishers of Anna Leah S. Reyes and to raise funds for her continued treatment in Manila. As most of you friends already know, a few months ago Anna was diagnosed at Capitol Medical Center with Stage 4 colon cancer which has metastasized to the liver.
We are rallying behind her as she renews her courageous fight against cancer. Having just recovered from a previous bout with ovarian cancer in 2011 when she underwent multiple surgeries in Cardinal Santos Medical Center and chemotherapy sessions, she needs our support and financial assistance in seeking further medical treatment for colon cancer.
To those of you who do not personally know her but would still like to help her meet her increasing and expanding medical needs, please let us quickly tell you about Anna.
Anna is a dutiful daughter & sister, devoted wife to her long-time love Alvin and loving mother to 2 precious young children, Lili (3) and Adi (11 months). [She adopted her children as infants after she went into remission & was declared cancer free by her doctors in 2012.] She is only 40 years old.
Anna is a multi-tasking, multi-talented and hard working woman. She was until recently the GM of Crossxtrain, Inc. Philippines and a healthcare advocate for a program called The Path Forward. She also started a small party service company called Party Elephant. She was previously affiliated with the PLDT Foundation and for many of her best years worked closely with Anthony Pangilinan for corporate training & events at BusinessWorks, Inc.
She has now been unable to work and has lost her health insurance benefits. She is bed bound or shuttling between her home and the hospital. At this stage of her illness, she has a temporary tube connected to her lungs and abdomen which doctors use to drain the fluids accumulating in her internal organs. She also tires easily and is undergoing pain management along with her treatment.
We her friends would describe her as feisty, creative, fiercely loyal, nurturing, sharp-witted, generous and good-hearted.
