Anna's Cancer Treatment Fund

Anna was recently diagnosed with Stage 3C Rectal Cancer and will need extensive chemo, radiation and surgery. For those of you who don’t know her, she’s only 32, a lifelong vegetarian, active and fit, a non-smoker who has no family history of any colorectal cancer. So you can imagine this came as a devastating shock to everyone.

Anna recently moved to Denver for a job as a public health nurse working with low-income moms and their babies.  Since chemo is affecting her immune system and energy levels, she will not be able to keep working, thus will soon be losing her job and health insurance in a few weeks. Even while working and using her work insurance the high co-insurance, premiums and deductibles have cost more than she can afford. This is why we’re asking for your help.

Even if you’ve never met Anna, consider donating what you would probably pay for when ‘buying her a drink’ if you met her in person and heard her story. She’s honestly one of the most generous and interesting people I have ever met; she’s volunteered/worked or been an active advocate for Planned Parenthood since age 14, lived in multiple cities and countries, volunteered extensively in public health, women’s health/family planning and domestic violence both internationally and domestically.  Her entire working career has been spent with low-income and the underserved people and she is a staunch advocate for women’s reproductive rights, immigrant issues and environmental protection, among other things. She went to Michigan for undergrad, has a MPH from Emory and finished her BSN at Johns Hopkins in Dec of 2015. She wants to get well and continue giving back to others.
