Help Anna Fight Breast Cancer

Anna Cruz was recently diagnosed with breast cancer on June 30th. The cancer was discovered after the result of a routine mammogram found a suspicious lump in the left breast. This led to two biopsies, multiple testings, exams, procedures and an MRI. After all this, she was then diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. It had already started spreading through the breast tissue and possibly making its way to her lymph nodes and other parts of her body. She is now facing a tough road ahead of her, especially in the next few months.  Anna is a loving mother, sister, aunt, family member, and friend. When she was diagnosed just a few weeks ago, she was completely devastated and in shock. In disbelief, she has gone through a very emotional few weeks and has previously been extremely private about sharing this information with everyone. Anna is a kind, caring, selfless person who should not have to go through this by herself.

What’s Next:
Anna will undergo surgery Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, to remove the cancerous masses as the first step to recovery. Anna will be on medical leave during this time, and is scheduled for months of chemotherapy and/or radiation shortly after, and a possible second surgery. During this time, she will not be working and will not know when she will be able to return.

The Costs:
Like the average person, she immediately began to worry about costs before anything else. Her daughter Desiree and sister Angie have already helped her cover medical expenses she has received so far, and will continue to help support her financially and emotionally as much as possible. With this being only the beginning, more expenses are to come soon. Although she has the financial support from her immediate family, the total estimated amount of medical expenses is far more than they anticipated and making it harder to be able to completely contribute solely. Her insurance has only been paying a portion of the medical costs, with the rest having to be paid out-of-pocket. 

What You Can Do to Help:
Your donations will go towards post-surgery, upcoming chemotherapy/radiation, side-effect treatments from the chemo/radiation, medication, therapy, and living expenses. Our goal is to make sure Anna focuses on fighting this cancer and continuing to be strong. Not having to constantly juggle numbers or worry about so many expenses will definitely help lift a burden off her shoulders.
