In 2014 when Anna was just 27 and about to give birth to her little beam of light Elloise, she received a diagnosis of Autosomal Dominant Tubulo-Interstitial Kidney Disease and had to deliver her daughter 2 weeks early.  ADTKD is a rare form of kidney disease and is caused by a mutation in the MUC-1 gene. It has affected about 50% of the paternal side of Anna's family including her father who passed away in 2016. Eloise has a 50% chance of developing the disease as well.

For about 3 years after her diagnosis, Anna's creatinine levels continued to be monitored. In September of 2017 her elevated levels officially qualified her to be placed on a kidney transplant list.  In August of 2018 she started overnight peritoneal dialysis to help her body clean out the toxins that her kidney could no longer do for themselves effectively. Even as she has been on dialysis, her kidney function continue to decline. There have been some hopeful moments with potential donors being tested, unfortunately none have been a complete match.

Anna's low kidney function means a very limited energy supply, among a long list of unpleasant side effects. Yet, she works full time, ran her private practice, and is a super mom to the magnificent Eloise. It has not been without struggle. Anna has been open about her struggles with trying to keep up with life, with what energy her body is able to muster. She has been forced to make many sacrifices for the sake of her health and safety, and all she wants is her life back.

Most recently, Anna had a medical scare and spend a day in the ER. From her follow up appointment with her primary doctor she learned that her kidneys are functioning at only 2%. Up until now, Anna has been modest about putting her plea for a donor out there. But it is clear that there is a dire need to get her story out there. We need to find this girl a kidney!

IF YOU ARE "O" BLOOD TYPE AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DONATION PROCESS, PLEASE CALL STRONG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (585) [phone redacted].

Read Anna's self written bio on The Kidney Connection; an organization that offers the opportunity for interested donors to reach out to the individuals in need of a kidney who have a compatible blood type.

If you are not a compatible kidney donor, you can still support Anna by contributing to her fund. Her friends and family are hopeful for a transplant. When that day comes she will have 4 months of recovery at home. NYS short term disability pays just $170 per week. We all know that will NOT pay the bills and feed a 5yr old child. Help us create a generous cushion for Anna and Eloise so it is one less thing on their plate to worry about on her road to recovery.

Thank you all <3
