Anna's Cystic Fibrosis Fund

Donation protected
I am creating this fund for my dear friend and beautiful warrior Anna Johnson. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis a few years ago and has suffered more physically than most will in one lifetime.  She is a former student and instructor at BA. She is truly an amazing woman who loves Jesus and has been so faithful to live her life well despite CF. Please consider giving to help cover the portion or surgery not covered by insurance and to help her with the recovery time as she will not be able to work and has not been able for some time now. I am hoping that we can help meet this great financial need in her life. Her personal story is below:

On April 10, 2019, I will be undergoing surgery for an ileostomy. My surgeon will be disconnecting my large intestine from my GI tract and inserting an Ostomy bag so I will be able to eat and have better digestive function without so much pain. Since getting diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2016, I have continued struggling with major digestive issues (specifically colon and motility problems, in addition to pancreatitis and liver issues from CF). And after a very long 3 years of trying to pinpoint what exactly was causing my GI problems, I was diagnosed with colonic inertia (paralyzed colon) in March. My surgeon is not entirely sure at this point what has caused my colonic inertia, but has told me it’s either just due to CF (as my mutation is very rare and doctors don’t know yet what to expect with it) or due to another genetic disease that he will be testing me for during surgery via biopsy.
I am incredibly thankful that God has provided a way out of this immense suffering for me through this surgery, but the financial burden from it and everything else is extensive. I was in the hospital last August for chronic pancreatitis, and underwent numerous extremely expensive MRI tests for my pancreas, many of which we are still paying off. Insurance is covering most of this surgery, but not all, leaving a good chunk for me to pay. Lastly, I am FINALLY graduating college in May (from Northern Vermont University, which I have been able to continue attending online in spite of my health declining), and will be responsible for paying back loans soon after graduation. I am confident in the Lord’s sovereignty and providence though the need be great, and am so endlessly grateful to all of you who are thinking of donating, will donate, or have donated. Thank you to each and every one of you...for being the hands and feet of Jesus to me in this time. I love you all.
