Anita’s Miraculous Healing

Our sweet animal-loving, always laughing, sometimes sassy, big-hearted friend Anita, has been struggling for a while to manage what Doctors thought was her chronic asthma and reoccurring infections.
8 weeks ago, she was taken to the emergency room and hospitalized, for what they thought was asthma combined with pneumonia. She was discharged with oxygen and spent a week recovering at a friends house in San Diego.
She was again taken to the emergency room on August 8, with chest pain and after a series of tests, she was diagnosed with invasive small cell lung cancer on Wednesday, August 16, 2018.
Subsequent scans have revealed the cancer has spread to her liver and bones.
Anita, of course, has been deeply shaken by the news, however, she is committed to maintaining a positive outlook and taking care of herself.
She has an amazing team of doctors and nurses who are creating her treatment plan. Initially, she will have six cycles of chemotherapy (they will administer chemo 3 days in a row and then she will rest and recover for 3 weeks before repeating the process). She is waiting for her insurance to approve the treatment and it is likely that she will start next week
It is expected that she will also have Radiation treatment. In addition, Anita is already receiving reiki treatments and will be exploring holistic options to support her healing.
Physically, Anita has been impacted by high doses of steroids, her breathing is short and shallow, she requires oxygen and is in constant pain. Walking is difficult and she is unable to drive or take care of herself adequately. Her doctors are working on her pain management strategy and are hopeful that the chemotherapy will make a difference for her symptoms.
Of course, as many of you know, Anita is a totally amazing sales team member at Tom Ferry. However, given her health, she has been unable to work consistently over the last 2 months and is currently unable to work at all.
She has medical insurance through her employer, although given she can't work she will have to start paying for that, through them, next month ($234 per/month).
We are creating this GoFundMe page to provide people with the opportunity to support Anita financially; to help cover the medical costs not covered by insurance, the care she currently requires and living expenses; our goal is to alleviate the burden of financial worry.
We will also use this platform to announce alternative ways to support her and to keep you updated on how she is doing.

We have taken courses together, spent numerous days laughing and drinking wine and over the years have become close friends.
